MISSING: Community, police search for 33-year-old John Moebs

WEST MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- West Milwaukee police are calling upon the community to assist in their search for 33-year-old John Moebs. Moebs was reported missing on Friday, May 2nd.

John Moebs

Officials say Moebs was last seen on Water St. in downtown Milwaukee.

They say he would most likely have walked south on Water St. to National Ave. and then up to 47th St. where he lives.

"I'm terrified like, every hour that goes by. It's been over three days -- almost three-and-a-half full days since anybody's heard from him. He went out on Water Street on Friday night with his girlfriend and they got separated and no one has seen or heard from him since 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning," Moebs' brother, Scott Moebs told FOX6 News.

Scott Moebs says John Moebs' girlfriend got a text from him around 3:30 a.m. Saturday -- saying he was almost home, and that he thought his nose was broken.

"Nobody heard anything from him. It makes me worry that something might have happened to him on the way home -- possibly a mugging or passing out somewhere -- maybe in an alley," Scott Moebs said.

Family members and friends are continuing their search -- and asking the public to help out by checking places an intoxicated or injured man could have stumbled into.

"We went to Brothers where he was missing on Water Street and then we went up and down there and just kind of, you know, popular places or bars that you know in the area," a friend, Victoria Radulovich said.

Area bars are reportedly checking their security camera footage for any sign of John Moebs.

"He's out there somewhere and he could be injured, you know. It's a sickening feeling to have absolutely no idea where somebody that you love is -- especially when they're not the kind of person who doesn't call in," Scott Moebs said.

Moebs is described as a white man, about 5'7" tall, weighing 140 pounds with a thin build, blue eyes and short brown hair.

Moebs was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black, pin-striped, short-sleeved, button-up shirt, a black zipper hoodie, black leather Chuck Taylor Converse All-Stars -- and he has a wallet chain.

Police also note that Moebs has small dragon tattoos on each shoulder -- and a large jester tattoo on his shoulder blade.

We're told John Moebs was convicted of armed robbery back in 2002. Police do not believe his past has any connection to his disappearance.

His brother Scott says he's been on the right side of the law since he was released two years ago.

If you have information about the whereabouts of Moebs, you're urged to call West Milwaukee police at 414-645-2151.
