Two more shows for 2014 Wisconsin State Fair announced

WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- The music lineup at the 2014 Wisconsin State Fair, presented by U.S. Cellular looks better than ever, as officials announce the final two shows slated for the Main Stage presented by Potawatomi. The 2014 Fair will take place Thursday, July 31 through Sunday, Aug. 10 at Wisconsin State Fair Park.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of The Beatles arriving in America, the stunning multi-media experience RAIN: A Tribute to The Beatles, will take concertgoers on a journey through the band’s vast anthology of hits on Friday, Aug. 1. When John, Paul, George and Ringo performed on The Ed Sullivan Show 50 years ago, they took the country by storm, and this Broadway smash hit honors the legacy of the world’s most celebrated band. The show covers all of the Beatles’ classics including, “I Want To Hold Your Hand,” “Come Together,” “Hey Jude” and so many more.

The arrival of the Beatles heavily influenced everything from music to pop culture. Earlier this year The Beatles were recognized at the 2014 Grammys and also with a CBS special titled, “The Beatles: The Night that Changed America,” which aired on Feb. 9. The special included guest performances from Stevie Wonder, John Mayer, Peter Frampton and more, as well as a reunion of Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr performing together. RAIN: A Tribute to The Beatles will begin at 7:30 p.m. and tickets will be $25 and $20.

Grammy award winner Peter Frampton will rock the stage with classic hits on Wednesday, Aug. 6. Frampton’s career took off at a young age when he joined Steve Marriott in 1969 to form the band Humble Pie. He began his solo career in 1971, eventually releasing his breakthrough live album, “Frampton Comes Alive!” in 1976. This album remains one of the top-selling live records of all time and includes several hit singles including “Baby I Love Your Way” and “Show Me the Way.”

He has collaborated with many legendary artists including George Harrison, David Bowie, Jerry Lee Lewis and Ringo Starr and remains one of the most celebrated guitarists in rock history. Iconic classic rock band, Survivor, fronted once again by Jimi Jamison, will open this 7:30 p.m. show with hits like “Eye of the Tiger” and “Is This Love.” Tickets will be $35 and $25.

All Main Stage tickets INCLUDE FAIR ADMISSION when purchased prior to entering the Fair Park.
