JAILED: Three men in custody following incident that involved "large knife"

MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police on Sunday, May 11th arrested three men in connection with a knife-wielding incident that occurred in a parking lot on Washington Avenue around noon.

Police say they were called out to the parking lot between Party City and Experience Fitness on Washington Avenue for numerous reports of three men fighting -- and one of the men holding a large knife.

Police say the man holding the knife began chasing the other men.

Police say two of the men were quickly detained -- a 20-year-old and a 19-year-old (both of Racine).

The third man involved -- a 17-year-old from Racine fled the scene, but was eventually apprehended by Mount Pleasant police.

Police say their investigation determined the 19-year-old man began following the 20-year-old man -- and both pulled into the Experience Fitness parking lot to settle an ongoing civil problem.

A fight immediately ensued between all three parties.

Police say the 20-year-old man went back to his vehicle and retrieved a knife -- and began confronting the other men with the knife as they got into a vehicle.

Police say the 19-year-old man sustained injuries to his hand while attempting to damage the 20-year-old man's vehicle.

The 19-year-old was treated on scene.

All three individuals were taken to the Racine County Jail -- and held on pending charges.
