"Phone's ringing off the hook" as Bohners Lake residents look to repair storm damage

BOHNERS LAKE (WITI) -- Strong storms rolled across southeastern Wisconsin on Monday, May 12th -- and one of the areas hardest hit was Bohners Lake -- just south of Burlington. Those living in Bohners Lake were impacted by a Tornado Warning issued just before 5:00 p.m. on Monday -- and on Tuesday it was time to begin to clean up.

"I'm quite busy actually. Had a real busy morning with the storm that hit," Mike Wake with Doc's Tree Service said.

When FOX6 News talked with Wake, Doc's Tree Service was on its fourth big job of the morning.

"With all the (storms) in the area, it definitely did a lot of damage. Phone's ringing off the hook," Wake said.

The good news in Bohners Lake is that there were no injuries as a result of the storms.

For Julie Wieland and her husband, Brad, the bad news was that the storms toppled two white oak trees that are at least 100 years old.

One fell onto the Wieland's roof!

“All of a sudden ‘wham!’ I knew something hit it good so I got up looked outside and saw nothing but tree,” Brad Wieland said.

"We heard the crash. It was 5:30 in the evening and it was pretty intense! Thank God we didn't get killed!" Julie Wieland said.

Eric Juntenen lost four trees in the storm. One of them hit an electrical wire and knocked out the power to his house.

He also has some barn damage.
