LONGVIEW, Texas (WITI) — A 31-year-old woman was arrested earlier this week after allegedly pretending to be a high school student.

KLTV reports that Charity  Johnson enrolled in New Life Christian School in Longview, Texas, using the name “Charity Stevens.”

A spokesperson for the school says Johnson was brought to the school with her guardian in October 2013. During enrollment, Johnson gave a date of birth that indicated she was 15.

Staff discovered her identification was fake on Tuesday.

According to KLTV, Johnson told a woman named Tamica Lincoln that she was 15 and needed a place to stay. According to Lincoln, Charity claimed that her mother was dead and that she was abused by her father.

“I sympathized with her, and invited her into my home,” she told the station. “I took her in as a child, did her hair, got her clothes and shoes…”

Johnson was arrested for failure to identify/giving false, fictitious information.
