Car smashes into storefront, ten people inside

GERMANTOWN (WITI) -- It was bad, but it could have been worse when a car drove through the doors of a U.S. Cellular store on Appleton Avenue at County Line Road.

Officials say the car stopped just short of the sales counter and there were about 10 people inside.

"I'm thankful and happy that no one actually got hurt, there was no one standing in front of those doors because usually there's about 5 or 6 people standing right in front of those doors waiting to be helped," said Sara Krause-Clark, U.S Cellular retail consultant.

The driver and passenger in the car were not injured, but the car did have to be towed from the scene.

There is damage to the front of the building but officials say it's structurally stable.

It is unknown when the store will re-open its doors.
