WATCH: BEATRICE UPDATE! How is the badly-burned dog doing?!

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals (MECA) announced that Beatrice, the badly-burned Milwaukee dog is doing well after her pigskin graft on April 28th.

Dr. John Weigelt, DVM, MD and Dr. Marla Lichtenberger, DVM, DACVECC are very pleased with Beatrice's progress.

Beatrice's wound is healing and has decreased in size by 25%.

There is no infection whatsoever and both doctors agree to give Beatrice another two weeks to continue her healing and she will again be examined at that time.

According to Dr. Weigelt, Beatrice may, or may not, need a skin graph.

Beatrice was stolen from her home on March 13th and found 11 days later at Potawatomi Bingo Casino cold and badly burned.

She underwent a cutting edge medical procedure by Froedtert trauma specialist, Dr. John Weigelt and Dr. Marla Lichtenberger, at the Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals on April 28th where heterograft (pigskin) was applied to Beatrice's third degree burns.

A reward was offered by Animal Fairy Charities for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for stealing and burning Beatrice.

Well-wishes continue to pour in from all over the country and abroad.

Over $4,000 was raised through donations to help Beatrice's owner with medical expenses.
