Packers and their fans back together again, as team participates in OTAs

GREEN BAY (WITI) -- Fans spilled into the stands at Ray Nitschke Field. That's because on Thursday, May 29th, they finally got a chance to see Green Bay Packers rookies and veterans on the field at the same time.

The Green Bay Packers and the fans were together again on Thursday -- as the Green Bay Packers held their first OTAs -- or organized team activities.

Those in the crowd found a way to be there for the OTAs -- even if it meant taking a day off work.

"Took the day off of work to come and enjoy some Packers football," Stacy Wood said.

Others came on their lunch break.

"It's a beautiful day and I'm very excited about the Packers season," Holly Powell said.

Still others...came in between naps.

"This is his first time here. He's a big football fan already," Brea Barclay said.

The tiniest fan in the stands came to cheer on his dad -- Packers offensive lineman Don Barclay.

"He's got the chubby legs. I think he'll be a football player someday, huh? We hope so huh? Say, 'I'm ready to cheer on daddy!'" Brea Barclay said.

Fans say the talent on the field appears to be in good condition.

"Everybody looks like they're in shape, which is surprising. Kind of a long off-season," Tyler Lorenz said.

The mix of veterans and rookies looked impressive to those who back the Pack.

"They mesh pretty well. So we'll see how that translates in the regular season," Lorenz said.

"Amazing of course. Especially Aaron. He was throwing really well. Everyone looks excited and it's exciting to watch them," Holly Powell said.

Fans say it's great to see the Packers in this kind of an environment.

"It's a fun time it's just really interesting to see them, like I say, on the level that they're eye to eye with you," Patti Watson said.

Packers fans have the chance to take in two more OTAs. Tuesday's practice is open -- and a week later, on June 10th, fans will also be welcome.
