Solly’s is good, but I am sorry,, Oscar’s has the best burgers,, Oscar’s is a true burger, not one smothered in Butter,,, although, that is what makes Solly’s a nice one,, Oscar’s is the Best.

Sorry,I disagree. Solly doesn’t even cook their burgers rare the way I like them. It doesn’t even matter because all that butter makes the difference. The butter doesn’t just make Solly’s burgers nice, it makes it the best. Possibly the best not just in Milwaukee, but in the entire country.

seriously, if in or near west allis, try DICKENS GRILL – BAR on 97th & greenfield avenue. grilled over gas grates; not fried; fresh meat; burgers come with grandma’s potatoe salad and a pickle and/or carrot stick. All for less than $5. The burgers and potatoe salad are really the best i have tasted anywhere in milwauke area and we do go out of our way to get to Dickens. Solly’s disappointed us many years ago and did so again about four months ago. The meat is a mere sliver of cheap ground beef. The butter is a waste b/c of the HUGE amount used. Will never go back to solly’s. i’ll take a grilled burger over gas flames any day before eating fried cheap junk. DO GIVE DICKENS A TRY. we discovered it “by accident” about 12 years ago and will continue to go out of our way for a great burger.
