Judge sentences Randell Thompson to 35 years in prison

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Milwaukee County judge sentenced Randell Thompson on Friday, May 30th to 35 years in prison plus another 15 years of extended supervision.

Thompson pleaded guilty in April to one count of first-degree reckless homicide in connection with the shooting death of Keenan Payne.

Payne was shot and killed near 77th and Bender on August 25, 2013.

According to the criminal complaint, Payne was shot and killed during an altercation outside of a gas station in the area.

According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office, Payne died as a result of gunshot wounds to the arm and chest.
