Tavern robbery: Police have "person of interest" in custody

RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police have a "person of interest" in custody in connection with a tavern robbery that happened late on Thursday, May 29th.

The robbery took place at Blues and R&B on Mound Ave. just after 11 p.m. Officials say a lone suspect entered the tavern armed with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect fled the tavern. Several hours later, a person of interest was located in the vicinity of the robbery and was taken into custody.

This is believed to be an isolated incident. But the owners of establishments are encouraged to remain alert and continue with extra security precautions.
