Get your tickets! Lorde to perform at BMO Harris Pavilion

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Two-time Grammy winner and pop star Lorde is coming to Milwaukee for the first time. Officials with the Pabst Theater believe they have found just the place for the show -- the BMO Harris Pavilion.

“We get to use this beautiful asset that's on the lakefront that is BMO Harris Pavilion with the direct views of the city skyline, of the lakefront, the things that make Milwaukee unique,” said Andy Nelson of the Pabst Theater group.

Grounds crews are already cleaning and getting the area ready, not just for Lorde's visit, but for several performers coming before her including Vampire Weekend on Wednesday, and of course all the bands, singers and performers coming during Summerfest. That's what this stage usually hosts, but Summerfest officials say they want to start branching out.

“It takes time to build a venue up, get people used to it, and we have a small window let's face it, summer is not that long in Wisconsin so we want people to use it as much as possible,” said Bob Babisch with Summerfest.

Ideally, said Babisch, they'd like to add another 8 or 9 shows to what they're already doing, and bringing in a performer like Lorde is a good start.

“We think there's going to be a lot of excitement for this show,” said Babisch. “People should get their tickets quickly because we think it will go very fast.”

There are 5,000 seats available at the venue and room for another 5,000 people standing room only.

The concert is September 26th, Friday night. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 6th, at 10 a.m. CLICK HERE for ticket information.
