BUSTED: $6,400 worth of heroin seized after traffic stop in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY (WITI) -- Washington County Sheriff's officials say two people were arrested, and $6,400 worth of heroin was seized on Wednesday, June 4th following a traffic stop.

Sheriff's officials initiated the traffic stop on U.S. Highway 41.

They say the 32-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were arrested -- and Sheriff's officials believe they were returning from Milwaukee with heroin.

Sheriff's officials say the traffic stop was related to an ongoing investigation into heroin distribution by the Washington County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Group.

The man and woman arrested are from the Town of Addison area -- and Sheriff's officials say they're believed to have been involved in heroin distribution to that area, as well as West Bend and other areas in Washington County.

Search warrants were obtained and executed, and resulted in the seizure of 32.1 grams of uncut heroin with a street value of approximately $6,400.
