3-year-old dog attack victim asked to leave restaurant because of scars

JACKSON, Miss. (WITI) --  A Mississippi woman says her 3-year-old granddaughter cried all the way home after the family was asked to leave a KFC restaurant because of the child's facial scars -- which are the result of a dog attack.

WAPT 16 News reports that the girl was attacked, dragged, and mauled by her grandfather's two dogs in his backyard.

The grandmother, Kelly Mullions, told WAPT that the family stopped at KFC for mashed potatoes because the 3-year-old was still using a feeding tube, so she needed something mushy. Mullins says that's when they were approached.

"They just told us, they said, ‘We have to ask you to leave because her face is disrupting our customers'," Mullins told WAPT. She said her granddaughter, Victoria, understood exactly what was being said.

Mullins also said Victoria is embarrassed about her looks and doesn't want to get out of the car when they go to stores.

Mullins told WAPT News that, "Her being 3 years old and already being discriminated against, it makes me mad, because I know for the rest of her life it’s going to be like that.”

WAPT says KFC officials commented on the incident saying, "They are investigating the incident and are committed to doing something appropriate for this beautiful little girl and her family."

KFC also posted an apology online due to all of the attention and comments from social media.
