Surveillance video & still images released: Can you help police solve Joseph Walker's murder?

RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police have released pictures and surveillance video related to the shooting death of 47-year-old Joseph Walker. Walker was shot and killed during an armed robbery at the American Legion Tavern on Douglas Avenue on May 31st.

No one is in custody in connection with Walker's death.

Racine police say tips come in daily -- but they need your help.

The Racine Police Department asks that you take a look at the photos and video -- and see if you can help them identify the suspects in this case.

Police are seeking two suspects in this case.

They are black males between the ages of 20 and 30.

Walker was a father of five.

Walker's family believes a warning shot was fired during the armed robbery -- and believes that shot hit Walker and killed him.

"It sits with me in my mind all the time. It's still hard. It's still hard to take that. I just couldn't believe it. That's a big help that they've got that video and it can be seen. I really am hoping somebody will know who they are. I know they will be caught. Somebody knows -- whether they are saying so or not. It will bring closure to the crime, but it won't heal the loss," Walker's mother, Beulah Walker said.

"This is just a tragic, completely senseless murder. The victim was just a patron in the bar, and the two suspects entered, committed an armed robbery of the establishment and in the meantime, murdered Mr. Walker," Racine Police Sgt. Jessie Metoyer said.

Racine police are working to solve a rash of robberies targeting bars and convenience stores.

There have been 12 such incidents since March.
