ARRESTED: Man allegedly threw chainsaw into lake, threatened to kill neighbors

BEAVER DAM (WITI) -- A 36-year-old Beaver Dam man was taken into custody early Thursday morning, June 19th following a dispute with a neighbor in the 300 block of Haskell Street Wednesday night, June 18th.

The Beaver Dam police responded to the scene around 8:46 p.m.

Upon arrival, investigating officers learned the dispute involved a disagreement over one of the neighbors throwing a chainsaw into Beaver Dam Lake.

According to officials, the suspect who threw the chainsaw into the lake was reported to have made threats to kill the complainant and the complainant's family.

In addition, information was obtained that the suspect had attempted to obtain firearms earlier in the day from a family residence in the Township of Beaver Dam. The complainant also reported seeing the suspect in possession of a handgun several says prior.

Responding officers reported the suspect was uncooperative.

Family members and neighbors expressed concern over the well being of the individual, noting the type of behavior the suspect was displaying.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence and was executed by the Beaver Dam Police Department in conjunction with a SWAT Team.

The suspect was taken into custody at 1:07 a.m. on June 19th without further incident during the execution of the search warrant.

No firearms were located within the residence.

Beaver Dam EMS evaluated the suspect and he was transported to the Dodge County Jail.

A request for charges of disorderly conduct and intimidation of a victim has been made with the Dodge County District Attorney's Office.

The suspect is a 36-year-old male from Beaver Dam -- his identity is being withheld pending the filing of formal charges.
