FREE APP: Put the Wisconsin State Fair at your fingertips

WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- Wisconsin State Fair officials are excited to launch the new Official 2014 Wisconsin State Fair mobile app.

The app is FREE and available for download on the App Store and Google Play Store for mobile devices with iOS and Android operating systems.

The Wisconsin State Fair app was created to help Fairgoers stay updated in real-time on everything from directions to events to entertainment to food during the 2014 Wisconsin State Fair, presented by U.S. Cellular®, Thursday, July 31 – Sunday, Aug. 10.

“We’re very excited to offer our Fairgoers a mobile way to keep in touch, be engaged and stay connected during their visit to the Wisconsin State Fair,” said Kathleen O’Leary, Director of Marketing & Communications. “The Official Wisconsin State Fair app will become yet another convenient way for Fairgoers to experience all of the amazing activities, contests and entertainment at the Fair.”

Fair guests can access the new mobile app on their smart phones or other mobile devices and receive updates during their visit through several NEW designated “Cow-Fi” Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the Fair Park. Cow-Fi is FREE to Fairgoers and will be available throughout the Exposition Center, Wisconsin Products Pavilion, Central Park and the NEW Guest Services Pavilion, presented by Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and JSOnline.com. Fairgoers can also sign up for Text Alerts powered by U.S. Cellular to receive Fair updates directly to their phones by texting “WIFAIR” to 27765 to opt in.

The Official 2014 Wisconsin State Fair mobile app allows Fairgoers to create a fully personalized schedule for their visit to the Fair and includes a database of the more than 2,000 events, contests, entertainment and agriculture shows that take place throughout the 11 days. The app also allows users to search for their favorite food items, learn about admission promotions and other deals at the Fair, and find tickets for shows at the Main Stage presented by Potawatomi. Fairgoers can navigate through the Fair Park with location-specific maps, including barns in Ag Village and winners of The Sporkies food competition, and utilize several ways to stay connected and “stick with us” through social media sites, with links to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest.

The Official 2014 Wisconsin State Fair mobile app was developed by CrowdTorch, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cvent, who develops, markets, sells and supports Cvent's consumer event management solutions.
