MILWAUKEE (WITI) — An 84-year-old man was pulled from a burning home on N. 5th Street near Meinecke Avenue Friday night, June 20th. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crews responded to the scene around 9:40 p.m.

Upon arrival, crews discovered that an individual was still inside the home — and an aggressive interior search was conducted.

Two minutes into the search, crews were able to retrieve an 84-year-old man from the home — however he died as a result of the fire.

Authorities say the cause of the fire appears to be electrical.

Officials say the home had no working smoke detectors.

The fire was not suspicious in nature — and no one else was injured.
