ARRESTED: Five teens taken into custody for involvement in armed robbery

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Five teenage suspects have been arrested for their involvement in an armed robbery that occurred on Milwaukee’s north side on June 22nd.

According to officials, a witness called police at approximately 11:05 p.m. and reported a group of people robbing a victim at gunpoint in the 2300 block of N. 8th Street.

The victim, a 27-year-old Milwaukee man, told police he was walking in the area when he heard numerous subjects running behind him. The subjects demanded the victim’s valuables, while threatening to shoot him, and then began to strike him before fleeing on foot.

As police arrived, they saw five subjects matching the description of the suspects running in the area.

Officers from District 5 took the suspects into custody in the 800 block of W. Meinecke Avenue.

Investigators are still trying to determine if more subjects were involved in the incident.

The five arrested include a 13-year-old male, three 15-year-old males, and a 17-year-old male.

The case will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
