Around 20 people in handcuffs, neighbors watch what looks like a scene from a movie

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A sergeant at Milwaukee Police District 3 confirms that a search warrant was served near 15th and North Ave. before he started his shift at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27th. The scene looked like something out of a movie: Perhaps that's why so many people stopped to stand along the police tape and watch the action unfold.

“I seen the police ride over and they went up in the house and they started shooting flash bombs up in there and they started pulling them all out one at a time,” said Renard Hatchett, onlooker.

All police are saying is that a search warrant was executed. It still isn't clear what for, but Milwaukee Police and officials from the ATF were on the scene.

"They started sitting them on the ground you know doing they regular procedure," said Hatchett.

One woman says that she counted the people as law enforcers brought them out. She says 22 people were escorted from the home -- many of them in handcuffs. She says they ranged in age from about 15 years-old up to middle age.

Neighbors and other onlookers say the house the people came out of has a bit of a reputation.

"It’s a lot of prostitutes and everything going over in that house," said Hatchett.

Neighbors also say the house was known to be a drug hotspot. But again, this information is coming from the neighborhood, not law enforcement.

It is currently unclear if these people are being arrested or detained.
