Medical Examiner's Office: Two killed in weekend motorcycle crash are officially identified

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office has officially identified two people killed on Saturday night, June 28th in a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.

Police say a motorcycle being operated northbound on N. Sherman Avenue by a 40-year-old Milwaukee man struck a vehicle making a left turn onto W. Auer.

Both the operator of the motorcycle and his 25-year-old female passenger were ejected from the motorcycle.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office says the victims are 40-year-old Anthony Jones, and 25-year-old Destinee Blue.

The Medical Examiner's report says Jones was operating a crotch rocket type motorcycle that had been traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when it struck a vehicle turning eastbound onto W. Auer Avenue from N. Sherman Boulevard.

Witnesses estimated the motorcycle was traveling in excess of 75 miles-per-hour, according to the Medical Examiner's report.

The Medical Examiner's report says the bike was at a stop light at W. Burleigh Street and N. Sherman Boulevard -- and when the light turned green, Jones accelerated to a speed in excess of 75 miles-per-hour -- weaving in and out of traffic, heading northbound on N. Sherman Boulevard.

The driver of a vehicle was heading southbound on N. Sherman Boulevard and was making an eastbound turn onto W. Auer Avenue when the two vehicles collided.

The Medical Examiner's Office says it appears Jones and Blue were ejected from the motorcycle after it struck the vehicle.

The report says Jones was wearing a helmet. A second helmet was discovered on the roadway.

The Medical Examiner's report says the bike was found to have suffered "an enormous amount of damage" -- and there were several parts of the bike scattered throughout the roadway.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

The Medical Examiner's report says there was significant damage to the right front passenger side of the vehicle -- including the panel, hood and windshield. The report says the vehicle spun 180 degrees when the impact occurred, and those marks can be seen on the road.

FOX6 News has learned a fund has been established in honor of 25-year-old Destinee Blue.

Donations are being accepted at any Educators Credit Union for the "Destinee Blue Memorial Fund."
