ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS: Potawatomi Hotel & Casino is scheduled to open August 18th

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Giant letters could be seen in the Menomonee Valley that make up just part of the new name of a well-known Milwaukee casino.

"Each letter is approximately 8 feet tall and 400 pounds, they are LED lit, and you`ll be able to see them from miles away," said Potawatomi Hotel & Casino External Communications Specialist Kim Mitschke.

With the 19-story hotel opening August 18th, Potawatomi Bingo Casino is now Potawatomi Hotel and Casino.

"In addition to all the great gaming that we have and world-class entertainment, we now have a beautiful hotel that guests can come and stay at. So the name really reflects all that Potawatomi has to offer," said Mitschke.

Crews spent Tuesday morning hoisting the letters to the top of the hotel that spell out Potawatomi on both the east and west sides of the building.

The hotel features 381 standard rooms, 16 suites, and one presidential suite, all with floor to ceiling windows.

"The views are gorgeous, you can really see 360 degrees around Milwaukee. You can see all the way out to Lake Michigan and beyond Miller Park. Everywhere you stay in this hotel will have a really great view," said Mitschke.

A freshly-designed website, www.paysbig.com, was launched as part of the transition which features the ability to make hotel room reservations on-line. For more information or to make a reservation, visit www.paysbig.com or call 800 PAYS-BIG.
