Some who live near the lake aren't huge fans of the huge crowds the U.S. Bank Fireworks Show brings

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The U.S. Bank Fireworks Show set for Thursday night, July 3rd has plenty of people parking several blocks west of the lake before making their way down to Veterans Park. That is causing concerns for some of those who live along the lakefront.

In neighborhoods near Milwaukee's lakefront, there are normal nights...

"It's quiet, pretty serene," Chris Fronczak said.

And then there's the evening of July 3rd -- when the lakeside living gets lively.

"It's a night we all remember. It's the one night a year that it's crazy," Fronczak said.

Crazy -- and loud!

"There's definitely some loud people, and there's definitely some walking on the lawns, and a little bit of disrespect to the property," Fronczak said.

Fronczak has lived on Terrace Avenue for about a decade -- and he says he's seen enough to cause concern.

"A car accident right here that caused a lot of yelling -- screaming. There's a lot of people. It's a lot of crowd control," Fronczak said.

The crowds come early in the afternoon, as people plot out places to park and prepare to party.

Near the intersection of Woodstock and Lake Drive, Dan Dean says he may see a few people get out of place, but he also sees the police.

"When it's really crazy is when it ends. There's always been a policeman here on foot that mans this corner and he kinda helps keep things going," Dean said.

A lot of lakeside residents say they plan to be perched on their porches, and that's where they`ll see the show. But one man says that`s where he`ll be watching folks as they pass by, occasionally yelling at them.

He says he'll be busy on Friday -- picking up their garbage.
