Campaign 2014: Gov. Walker launches ad attacking Burke on outsourcing

MADISON (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker's latest campaign ad attacks Democrat Mary Burke over Trek Bicycle Corp. outsourcing jobs to China.

Walker released the ad statewide Wednesday. Burke is a former executive at Trek, a company started in the 1970s by her father in Waterloo.

Burke has said that she wasn't involved with decisions to ship Trek jobs overseas.

Walker's ad comes on the heels of news that Walker's top economic development agency approved millions of dollars in tax breaks to companies in Wisconsin that relocated jobs overseas.

Burke's campaign spokesman Joe Zepecki says Walker should be ashamed of himself for "attacking a great Wisconsin company" in light of the news that his jobs agency gave those tax breaks.

Walker spokesman Tom Evenson says voters can't trust Burke to create Wisconsin jobs.
