Police: Double shooting from July 9th now being investigated as a homicide; no one in custody

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police say a shooting that occurred on July 9th near N. 38th and Fairmount is now being investigated as a homicide. One of two people shot that afternoon died on Sunday, July 20th as a result of injuries he suffered in the shooting.

The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m.

Police say a 29-year-old man was shot several times, and a 49-year-old man received non life-threatening wounds.

Police say both men were sitting on a porch when the shooting occurred.

After the shooting, police said the 29-year-old man was in grave condition at the hospital. Now, police say he has died as a result of his injuries.

He is identified as Sidney Key.

Police say they continue to investigate whether this shooting was drug related.

No one is in custody.
