BROWN DEER (WITI) -- Brown Deer police on Friday, July 25th responded to a 911 call at a residence in the 8000 block of North 67th Street in the Village of Brown Deer for reports of a stabbing. The suspect was the caller's mother, who had already fled the scene on foot.

"A little bit after midnight there were two 911 calls received a the dispatch center reporting that the caller had been stabbed and he indicated his mother`s the one who had stabbed them," says Lieutenant Lisa Kumbier, Brown Deer Police.

Upon arrival, officers found two victims, an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old.

"There was a struggle then mom left ran to the kitchen and came back with a knife," says Kumbier. "There was a stab wound to the leg area and the other victim had some cuts to his head and face area."

Officials say the 18-year-old sustained a wound to his leg and the 16-year-old sustained cuts to his face and head area.

Both were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was later located in the City of Milwaukee and was taken into custody.

Neighbors who know the boys are concerned and in disbelief.

"I don`t even know how to put it in words," says neighbor Paul Fine. "When you`re a parent and another parent does that to one of their children, you have to wonder."

Folks say they don't know much about the mother, but know the teens live at the home with a different relative. They says the victims are nice and pretty much keep to themselves.

The suspect was transported to the Milwaukee County Jail waiting for a review of the following charges: domestic violence, physical abuse of a child and reckless injury (while armed). The charges will be sent to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office on Saturday, July 26th.
