Cedarburg Fire officials: Charcoal grill likely led to garage fire at home in Town of Cedarburg Sunday

CEDARBURG (WITI) -- Cedarburg Fire officials were called out to a garage fire on Sunday afternoon, July 27th.

It happened at a home on Cedar Creek Parkway in the Town of Cedarburg around 2:30 p.m.

Fire officials say the fire broke out in an attached garage. Fire officials said smoke was showing upon their arrival on scene.

It is believed this fire started in a roof vent from a charcoal grill, while a homeowner was cooking.

Several agencies were called out to this fire because it occurred in an area where there are no fire hydrants.

First arriving companies were able to quickly knock down the fire -- and contain the fire to the garage area.

Crews remained on the scene with extensive overhaul for approximately two-and-a-half hours.
