ARRESTED: Fond du Lac man taken into custody following armed domestic dispute

FOND DU LAC (WITI) -- A 37-year-old Fond du Lac man was taken into custody Wednesday morning, July 30th  by the members of the Fond du Lac Police Department SWAT team following an armed domestic dispute at a residence in the 200 block of 17th Street.

According to officials, at approximately 4:17 a.m. officers were called to the Walgreens Store at the corner of Johnson and Main to meet with a victim wanting to report a domestic dispute.

The victim, a 28-year-old Fond du Lac woman, stated that she and her husband had gotten into an argument at their residence and that the suspect put a gun to her head and would not let her go for a period of time.

The victim was able to eventually flee the residence and notify police of the situation and the fact that there were also two young children still in the home.

The City of Fond du Lac Police Department SWAT team was called to the scene.

Negotiators from the SWAT team were able to make contact with the suspect, who after a short time surrender to police without further incident.

The children were found in the home unharmed.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and it is anticipated the suspect will be facing numerous felony charges.
