14-year-old bicyclist collides with car in West Bend; bicyclist thrown from his bike

WEST BEND (WITI) -- West Bend police say a 14-year-old male bicyclist was struck by a car on Sunday afternoon, August 3rd.

It happened around 12:15 p.m. in the 1700 block of West Washington Street.

Police say a vehicle, being driven by a 59-year-old man from West Bend was exiting a parking lot to enter West Washington Street.

That's when the bicyclist collided with the vehicle.

The 14-year-old bicyclist was thrown from his bike.

He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Police say the vehicle's driver was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way.
