Summertime accident: Three-year-old boy rescued after falling into pool

RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police say a three-year-old boy from Racine is in critical condition after he was pulled from a pool at a home in the 2000 block of Shoop Street on Sunday afternoon, August 10th.

It happened shortly before 3:00 p.m. Sunday.

Police say the boy did not have a pulse and was not breathing when he was pulled from the pool.

First responders to the scene began administering CPR, and the boy was taken to the hospital.

He was eventually taken by Flight for Life to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee -- where he is listed in critical condition.

Police say this incident is believed to be a tragic accident. They say the child likely fell into the pool after climbing an exterior support strap.
