What caused his death? Elm Grove man dies while participating in bike race in Michigan

MARQUETTE, Mich. (AP) — Police say a Wisconsin man has died while participating in the Ore to Shore Bike Race in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Police in Marquette say they responded Saturday afternoon, August 9th to a call from a family member reporting the man was overdue at the finish line and investigators found his body just off the race course. Police say he's from Elm Grove, but his name wasn't immediately released.

Additional information was pending, including cause of death.

The Ore to Shore is an annual event in the Marquette area that consists of several bike races. This year it included the 48-mile Hard Rock race, the 28-mile Soft Rock, the 10-mile Shore Rock, the four-mile Junior Rock, a one-mile Little Rock and 50-yard Littlest Rock.
