BUSTED: Five-time felon arrested again, this time for allegedly breaking into car
MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee police arrested on Friday, August 22nd a convicted felon after he tried to enter a locked car. Officials believe he is connected to similar crimes in the area.
Officers from District 1 were dispatched to the neighborhood near 9th and Juneau just before 4:30 a.m. for an entry into an automobile complaint.
At the scene, the officers were met by an employee who worked in the parking structure and said the suspect was attempting to break into a car. The suspect was detained by security and arrested by officers. A search of the suspect revealed a broken tool in his pocket that was consistent with damage done to the car.
Officers determined the suspect was wanted for two other similar incidents earlier in August involving theft from vehicles. In both those crimes, the suspect broke the vehicle’s windows and stole items.
Fingerprints from both cases led back to the suspect, a 45-year-old Milwaukee man. He is a five-time felon and his arrest record dates back to 1987. He was convicted of Entry into Locked Vehicle in 2011 and 2012.
Milwaukee Police will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
