Released: Green Bay Packers say goodbye to seven players

GREEN BAY (WITI) — The Green Bay Packers have released seven players ahead of the final preseason game to be played Thursday, August 28th. The Packers take on the Kansas City Chiefs at Lambeau Field in the Thursday evening game.

The Packers players released Sunday, August 24th are:

  • S Charles Clay
  • CB Antonio Dennard
  • WR Chris Harper
  • LB Korey Jones
  • FB Ina Liaina
  • QB Chase Rettig
  • WR Gerrard Sheppard

The transactions were announced Sunday by Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations.

The Packers are 2-1 in the preseason — winning their last two games and falling to the Tennessee Titans in the preseason opener.

    Really? Has the front office not learned from last year’s fiasco with Aaron Rodgers being hurt and out for so long that we need a second to the back-up QB position? They just keep throwing roadblocks for everyone to overcome and one year it won’t happen, then the fans won’t be the only ones singing the blues!

      Umm—-Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien? That makes three quarter backs…so there is a “second to the back-up QB position”….Don’t think we are shallow at that position.
