Woman threatened with gun to her head: Robbed, and carjacked

GREENFIELD (WITI) -- Greenfield Police are investigating an armed robbery, and carjacking case that occurred in a parking lot of an apartment complex near S. 41st St. and Hillcrest Drive around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, August 29th.

A woman in her 20's who lives in the area had arrived home and parked her car. While in the process of gathering her things, she was approached by a man who held a handgun to her head and demanded her property.

The man was able to get her purse and the keys to her vehicle, a red Toyota Rav-4. He then got into her car, and drove off.

Following the suspect were two other men in a smaller gold or tan colored SUV that the woman said looked like a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The suspects fled in both vehicles onto a stretch of 43rd St., just north of Cold Spring Road.

No one was hurt in the armed robbery.

The suspects did not conceal their identity during the robbery, but Police Captain, Mike Brunner said they didn't have any further description of the suspects. Brunner said this isn't a daily crime that the Greenfield Police Department deals with, and also urged people to be aware of their surroundings. Brunner also said the victim had never seen the suspects before the robbery on Friday.
