Two vehicle accident in Waukesha: Numerous citizens stop to help

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- On Saturday, September 6th at approximately 9:55 a.m., The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, along with the City of Pewaukee Fire Department responded to a two vehicle accident on Redford Boulevard at Busse Road.

While emergency personnel were responding, Waukesha County Communications indicated they were receiving reports that both vehicles were displaying flames and one of the drivers was possibly trapped within his vehicle. Numerous citizens that were in the immediate area of the scene stopped and assisted.

The first arriving deputy found that multiple citizens utilized a fire extinguisher to extinguish the flames and were in the process of removing the trapped man from his vehicle.

The vehicle was operated by a 65-year-old West Bend man was traveling south bound on Redford Boulevard approaching the controlled intersection. The other vehicle was operated by a 17-year-old Waukesha man, he was traveling north bound on Redford approaching Busse Road. He was preparing to make a left hand turn to head west bound on Busse Road.

The vehicle that was turning west onto Busse Road was struck by the vehicle heading south.

The 65-year-old man was transported via ambulance to Froedtert Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The 17-year-old man was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

This incident remains under investigation.
