Veterans march against violence

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Veterans marched against violence on Saturday, September 6th.

The group met Saturday morning on Capitol Drive to discuss problems with crime in the community.

At the event was the National Association for Black Veterans. They say one of the biggest issues in Milwaukee is black on black violence.

The group wanted to be seen today to show that it's okay for kids to walk the streets and to deter them from crime.

"Our mission is to accomplish, to make the community safe for people to walk the streets, just live in the community. City-wide, east side, west side, north side, we're just asking that everyone join in," said Air Force Veteran, Barbara Robinson.
