Fire destroys duplex in Muskego, one person treated for smoke inhalation

MUSKEGO (WITI) -- Fire destroyed a two-family home on Cornell Circle in Muskego on Wednesday, September 17th.

Fire crews were dispatched to the scene around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. When they arrived on the scene, the side-by-side duplex was fully engulfed in flames.

Everyone who lives in the building was able to get out safely before emergency responders arrived. One person was treated for smoke inhalation. There were no other injuries.

The Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced residents.

Investigators say the cause of the fire has not been determined. The fire will be investigated by the Muskego Police Department and Wisconsin State Fire Marshal.
