MADISON (WITI) -- Thanks to the bye week, the Wisconsin Badgers haven't played a game since whipping Western Illinois on September 6th. They host Bowling Green on Saturday, September 20th.

The Badgers honored a special young man and his mom during halftime of the Western Illinois game.

First Sergeant Kevin L. Lowery lost his battle with cancer last November. He was just 42 years old.

Nicholas' father and Angela's husband served our country for nearly 25 years.

Among his numerous awards and decorations, he received two Bronze Stars and the meritorious service medal.

Sergeant Lowery's family has something great to look forward to.
