Sheboygan police: Two injured following crash at S. Taylor Drive & University Drive

SHEBOYGAN (WITI) -- Sheboygan Police and Fire departments responded to a two vehicle crash at S. Taylor Drive and University Drive Wednesday night, September 18th.

Based on investigation at the scene and numerous witness statements, a car driven by an 18-year-old Cleveland woman was turning north onto Taylor Drive from University Drive and pulled out in front of a southbound car driven by a 23-year-old Sheboygan man.

The two vehicles collided and slid through the median into the northbound lanes of Taylor Drive.

No secondary collisions occurred with northbound vehicles.

The driver of the turning vehicle required extrication by Sheboygan Fire Department personnel and was taken to St. Nicholas Hospital for treatment of serious but not life-threatening injuries.  She was ultimately transferred to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay  where she remains in stable condition.

The driver of the southbound vehicle reported minor injuries and was arrested at the scene for Operating After Revocation.  The driver of the turning vehicle is expected to be cited for failing to yield the right-of-way.

A portion of Taylor Drive remained closed during a reconstruction of the crash on-scene, and was reopened at approximately 9:45 PM.  The crash remains under investigation.
