JOBS: Upcoming fall Veterans Job Fair will be the largest in the event's history!

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele says the upcoming annual fall Milwaukee County Veterans Job Fair will be the largest in the event's history. More than 100 companies will be at the October 2nd job fair looking to hire vets. Because of the record breaking number of employers, the event is expanding this year. The job fair will be held in the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center and the Schroeder Galleria of the Milwaukee Art Museum.

“We have worked hard every year to do more for the County’s veterans and that’s why every year this event gets bigger and better,” said County Executive Abele. “As I have since taking office, we’ll continue adding services for veterans and doing everything we can to help veterans find work.”

This year’s fall job fair includes representatives from the Brewers, GE Health Systems, Schneider National and the Cedar Rapids Iowa Police Department. All of the companies have hundreds of job openings they need to fill.

“We are grateful to all the employers who have continued to step up and help those who served us,” County Executive Abele said.

The job fair is put on by the Milwaukee County Veterans Service Office (MCVSO), the Zablocki VA Medical Center and local representatives of WI DWD Office of Veterans Employment Services.

The job fair will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2nd at the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center and the Art Museum. Free parking will be made available in the surface lot north of the War Memorial Center and across the street in the O’Donnell parking structure.
