Gas prices in southeast Wisconsin could soon be under $3/gallon

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- GasBuddy.com reports that Great Lakes states will likely see more stations dropping their prices under $3/gallon in the weeks ahead as crude oil prices take a beating amidst global economic concerns, falling demand, and a huge drop in corn prices.

Some states in the Great Lakes, such as Ohio and Indiana, have already seen prices at some stations drop under $3/gallon, but as crude prices continue their slide, motorists may soon see $2.99/gallon return to a pump near them. Michigan, Illinois, and Minnesota are on the cusp of seeing such prices, and while some motorists could see such prices by the conclusion of the upcoming weekend, other motorists may have to wait a few weeks longer for the decreases to drip down.
