MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police were able to arrest a bank robbery suspect minutes after the crime occurred!

Police say on Wednesday, October 1st, a suspect entered the BMO Harris Bank at 8300 W. Silver Spring Drive.

He approached a teller, implied a weapon and handed over a note -- demanding money before leaving the bank without any money.

Police say an employee called MPD to provide a description of the suspect.

Responding officers located him in the 5900 block of N. 84th Street and took him into custody just minutes later.

Officers found a BMO Harris deposit slip in his sweatshirt and a construction hat and vest inside of his backpack, which according to witnesses he wore during the crime.

The suspect is a 22-year-old Milwaukee man -- a convicted felon, with a 2011 armed robbery conviction.

Milwaukee police will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
