Waukesha police investigating the death of a two-year-old child

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Waukesha police say they are investigating the death of a two-year-old child.

Police say just after 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 6th, they were dispatched to a residence on Barstow Avenue for a report of a child who wasn't breathing.

Paramedics began life-saving procedures and transported the child to the hospital. That's where the two-year-old child was pronounced dead.

Waukesha police and the Waukesha County Medical Examiner’s Office are conducting an investigation into the death. An autopsy is being performed on the child.

"There was two large fire trucks and two squad cars. Then later on in the afternoon the coroner must have been here too. Too much tragedy in this world. It's very sad," neighbor Doris Pundsack said.
