Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren to campaign for Mary Burke Saturday

MADISON (AP) — Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren plans to campaign with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke in Milwaukee on Saturday, October 11th.

Warren is one of the most popular figures in the Democratic Party. She has aggressively campaigned for Democrats around the country, trying to help her party maintain its control of the Senate despite a playing field that heavily favors Republicans.

Warren is scheduled to appear at a public event on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus Saturday afternoon. Burke's campaign spokeswoman said Wednesday that more details will be announced later.

Wisconsin Republican Party executive director Joe Fadness says Warren's visit shows that Burke is desperate. Fadness says, "We don't need divisive liberal elitists like Warren influencing our election."

Warren's visit comes after first lady Michelle Obama campaigned twice with Burke in recent days.
