DEVELOPING: Search is on for hit-and-run driver that sideswiped motorcycle officer

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Milwaukee police officer was hurt after the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a car at 35th and North around 11 a.m. on Friday, October 10th.

Officials say the officer was turning northbound onto 35th Street from eastbound on North Ave. when an eastbound car traveling in the westbound lanes sideswiped the motorcycle. The car, described as a black, 4-door Nissan with tinted windows, continued eastbound on North Ave. after striking the motorcycle.

The officer, a 43-year-old male with 18 years of service, is assigned to the Neighborhood Task Force.  He was treated and released at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
