54-year-old man arrested in theft of 1,300-pound traffic gate

GREEN BAY (AP) — Police have arrested a 54-year old man in the theft of a 1,300-pound traffic gate from a construction site near the Fox River.

Green Bay police say a tipster led them to an Ashwaubenon home where they found the 22-foot-long gate. The gate formerly was used to control traffic on the Don A. Tilleman Bridge. A large amount of lumber also was taken from the site earlier this month.

Press-Gazette Media (http://gbpg.net/1w6P1Fk ) reports the man was arrested and jailed on suspicion of theft and criminal damage to property.

Most of the property was recovered and returned to the owner.
