Police nab armed robbery suspects just ten minutes after the alleged crime

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police were able to apprehend two armed robbery suspects just 10 minutes after the alleged crime occurred.

Police say around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14th, officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Prospect Avenue, where they met with the victim of an armed robbery. That victim told police he was standing in front of a building when a suspect approached him, pointed a gun at him and demanded his belongings.

The suspect was able to get away with the victim's cell phone -- fleeing on foot and getting into a nearby SUV.

Ten minutes later, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect vehicle in the 1900 block of N. 6th Street. Police located the victim's cell phone in that vehicle.

Police arrested a 21-year-old Milwaukee man and a 22-year-old Milwaukee man.

Charges are being presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
