BUTLER (WITI) — Police officers with the Butler Police Department, the Wauwatosa Police Department and the Brookfield Police Department on Thursday afternoon, October 16th came together to arrest an armed robbery suspect.

The call came in to the Wauwatosa Police Department just before 12:30 p.m. Thursday from a business in the 4700 block of N. 124th Street — reporting a suspicious person on their property.

Wauwatosa police say before officers arrived at the scene, the subject displayed a handgun and stole a bottle of Gatorade — before fleeing.

Responding officers got a description of the man, and he was spotted soon after officers arrived.

Wauwatosa police officers attempted to make contact with the man, but he fled into a wooded area — toward a railroad yard east of 124th Street and west of Highway 45.

Several squad cars responded to the scene.

The man was taken into custody shortly after officers arrived. Police say he was found to have a 9mm handgun on his person.
