Milwaukee Art Museum celebrates Dia de los Muertos

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- On Sunday, October 19th, the Milwaukee Public Art Museum welcomed the public to participate in Kohl's Art Generation Sundays: Dia de los Muertos.

Kids and families celebrate this traditional Mexican holiday through art with the Kohl's Art Generation program at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Participants were able to paint their faces, explore the beauty of symbols such as butterflies and marigolds, enjoy festive Mexican dance and mariachi music.

While at the Museum, families could drop by the Kohl's Education Center for fun-filled activities -- including a behind-the-scenes look at the Museum, and hands-on art making.

Part of Kohl's Art Generation program, the Kohl's Education Center is make possible through $6.4 million from Kohl's Cares to the Milwaukee Art Museum.

The events on Sundays are free with Museum admission, and kids under 12 are always free.
