Scott Walker attends ribbon cutting, highlights manufacturing growth

MADISON (WITI) -- Governor Scott Walker attended a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new CNC Machining Lab at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College today. The lab was expanded to provide students with more than 9,000 square-feet of learning space equipped with the tools necessary to succeed in the manufacturing industry.

Governor Walker outline his 'Continuing Wisconsin's Comeback' plan and focused on a key tenet, helping people 'Learn More to Earn More' through investments in worker training programs. These programs help people get the skills they need to get a job and build careers.

"It's exciting to be here today celebrating the monumental strides we're making in growing Wisconsin's manufacturing employment rate outpaces the national average, and we've invested more than $100 million in workforce development. Our policies are moving Wisconsin forward, and we can't afford to let Mary Burke's failed policies take us backward," said Scott Walker.

NEW Manufacturing Alliance, a local community partner, also attended the ribbon cutting to celebrate the new lab. The alliance partners Wisconsin-based manufacturing and participation in the industry.
